Four McDermotts study in Guanajuato, Mexico
Four members of the 2004 class of McDermott Scholars (Zac Cox, James Fickenscher, Rachel Markowitz. and Jordan Youngblood) spent this summer studying in Guanajuato, Mexico. Here they all are having a fancy dinner above the city, where the food was spectacular and there was always tons of it to eat. Guanajuato, nestled in the mountains, was particularly magical if watched from up in the hills while night fell and the lights began to twinkle.

ReplyDeleteThe picture was taken at the Casa Colorada--we took a taxi up for dinner a few of the evenings we were there.
The four of us enrolled in the Summer Spanish Program offered by the Escuela de Idiomas that is run by UG (Universidad de Guanajuato.) We didn't have any experiences with any of the privately-run language schools, but I think any of us would recommend the program we were in--a month-long course offered during the summer. More information is available at http://usic13.ugto.mx/idiomas/spanish.htm .
